Voice Stream Memo Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the iOS app and Apple Watch companion app "Voice Stream Memo" handle user information.
Voice Stream Memo is an app that turns voice input into text memos and saves them.
1. Microphone Access on iPhone
The iPhone app uses your device's microphone to capture voice input for transcription.
2. Speech Recognition on iPhone
The iPhone app uses Apple's Speech Recognition system (the iOS Speech Recognition APIs) to convert your speech into text.
The app itself does not save audio files or send audio data to a developer-operated server.
This Privacy Policy does not make any claim about how Apple's Speech Recognition system processes audio at the OS level; please refer to Apple's own documentation and privacy disclosures for that.
3. Apple Watch Companion
The Apple Watch app uses the system dictation/text input UI provided by watchOS to create memo text.
The Apple Watch app itself does not use Speech.framework or AVAudioEngine to run its own speech recognition or audio recording.
The Apple Watch app does not save audio files.
Only the resulting text created by dictation/text input is sent from Apple Watch to the paired iPhone.
Text transfer from Apple Watch to iPhone uses Apple's WatchConnectivity framework.
Received text is saved on the iPhone as an existing text memo in the app's local memo history.
This app does not make any claim about how watchOS system dictation processes audio at the OS level; that behavior is controlled by Apple and watchOS, not by this app.
4. Data Stored on This Device
This app does not save audio recordings.
Only the resulting text memos are saved, and they are stored on your device.
The Apple Watch companion does not keep a separate memo database; text sent from Watch is saved by the paired iPhone app.
5. Data Transmission
This app does not send your text memos or any other data to a developer-operated server or any other external server.
This app has no backend server and does not communicate with any external API.
When using the Apple Watch companion, the app sends only memo text from Apple Watch to the paired iPhone using WatchConnectivity. It does not send audio data through WatchConnectivity.
6. Accounts and Third-Party Services
This app does not use any of the following:
- Account creation or login
- Advertising
- Paid features or in-app purchases
- External APIs
- Analytics or tracking SDKs
- iCloud sync
7. Data Deletion
When you delete a text memo inside the app, it is deleted from your device.
If you delete the app itself, all data stored on your device is also deleted.
