- Speak.
- Tap Stop.
- Open History to view, copy, or delete saved memos.
Apple Watch Basic Usage
- Open Voice Stream Memo on Apple Watch.
- Tap the text field.
- Use the system dictation/text input to enter a memo.
- Tap Save.
- The memo is sent to the paired iPhone and appears in the iPhone app History.
Permissions
- On iPhone, Microphone permission is required for voice input.
- On iPhone, Speech Recognition permission is required for transcription.
- On Apple Watch, memo text is entered through the system dictation/text input UI provided by watchOS.
iPhone Troubleshooting
- If transcription does not start on iPhone, check the Microphone and Speech Recognition permissions for this app in iOS Settings.
- If the text is not accurate, try speaking clearly and check your device's language settings and surrounding noise.
- Empty recordings (no speech transcribed) are not saved to History.
- If a session is interrupted, a draft containing the text transcribed so far may appear as "Draft" in History, so your text is not lost.
Apple Watch Troubleshooting
- Apple Watch use requires a paired iPhone and Apple Watch.
- Delivery to iPhone may not be immediate; it depends on WatchConnectivity and system delivery.
- If the memo does not appear immediately, open the iPhone app later and check History again.
- The Apple Watch app does not provide continuous streaming transcription like the iPhone app.
- The Apple Watch app uses system dictation/text input; accuracy depends on watchOS dictation, device language, surrounding noise, and environment.
- Empty text is not saved.
